Roger William Abernethy

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Roger William Abernethy, age 60, of Lenoir, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born August 26, 1948 in Caldwell County, Mr. Abernethy was a son of the late Ernest Leroy ?Joe? and Hyacinth Thompson Abernethy and the husband of Gail Shook Abernethy of the home. Roger had worked for Lenoir Mirror for 30 years. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a niece, Amy Stevens. Surviving other than his wife is his brother, Steve Abernethy and wife Shelia of Valdese and two sisters, Marilyn Beane and husband Jerry of Lenoir and Linda Schoch and husband Joseph of Glenridge, NJ. A celebration of Roger?s life will be held 4:00 PM Monday, March 29, 2010 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Raymond Spann officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service and at other times at the home of Marian Stevens, 3177 Morganton Blvd., Lenoir.
