Rodney Reese

Mr. Rodney Edward Reese, age 72, of Granite Falls passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born December 25, 1947 in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Ella Guy Reese.Rodney was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.He will be remembered most for his willingness to help others.Some of the things he enjoyed most were working in his yard, staying busy in general and spending time with his grandkids.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Wilson and Ethel Bolick; nine brothers, Grable, Toll, Odell, Fred, Gurney, Earl, Dean, Elwood and Dwain. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice Church Reese; three children, Amy Frye (husband Michael), Nancy Reese and Bruce Reese (wife April); a sister, Ola Greer; six grandchildren, Caleb Reese (wife Katie), Noah Reese, Jalaney Hendrix, Julius Hendrix, Andrew Frye and Tanner Frye; a great grandson, Carson Reese; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of life will be held at Living Hope Church on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating with full Military Honors provided by the North Carolina National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Due to Covid restrictions, the family would like to request the use of a face mask and the practice of social distancing. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Living Hope Church Building Fund at 1890 Connelly Springs Road, Lenoir, NC28645 or to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC28645.
