Rocco (Rocky) Anthony Montalto

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Rocco Anthony “Rocky” Montalto, age 81, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born September 30, 1931 in Stamford, Ct., he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose Altamore Montalto. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Montalto who passed away in 2005 Rocky graduated from Stamford High School and retired from the city of Stamford, Conn., after 20 years of service. He came to live in Caldwell County in 1986. For the last 5 years, Rocky has lived at Brockford Inn in Granite Falls. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank Bennett and Gay Helton for their kindness through their visits and care since Rocky moved to Caldwell County. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Pansy Montalto of Hickory. A celebration of “Rocky’s” life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2013 in the chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Bennett Helton officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
