Robin Joel Mclean

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Robin Joel McLean, age 51, of Lenoir, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 in Revere, Missouri. Born November 16, 1957 in Caldwell County, Robin was a son of the late Verne E. McLean and Annie McNeil of Lenoir. Other than his father, he is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Patrick McLean; Grandparents, Paul and Mary Kincaid and Roby and Mattie McNeil. Robin worked as a mechanic for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. For years, he worked at Bernhardt-Seagle in downtown Lenoir as a service technician. He was a friend to everyone he met. All that knew him loved and respected him. He never turned anyone away when they needed something worked on no matter what time day or night. Robin was an active member of Temple Baptist Church and loved the Lord. He served as Auditorium Sunday school teacher for many years and sang in the choir. He also helped serve as a Sunday school bus driver. He loved fishing, hunting, and was a loving husband and father. Anyone he knew he would always invite them to come join him at church. He was a rock that you could depend on for ALL his family and friends.  We rejoice that he has gone home to be with the Lord and loved ones before him. Our hearts are saddened by his absence and we all feel a great loss. ?To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.? Other than his mother, he is survived by his wife, Janice Lee McLean of the home; 2 sons, Robert ?Buzz? Boston and wife Misty of Hudson; Casey McLean of the home; one daughter, Brandy McLean of the home and fiancée Tyler Winters of Lenoir; Brother, Paul E. McLean of Lenoir; two sisters, Cindy Beane and husband Robert of Lenoir; Pamela Waters and husband R.C. of Lenoir; 3 step-children from a previous marriage; Amy Scott of Ladson, SC; Lisa Heirs of Summerville, SC; Chris Scott of Lenoir; 3 grandchildren, Brady Boston, Garrett Hubbard and Cody Ayers all of Hudson; one uncle, Patrick ?Doc? McLean of Lenoir; two aunts, Shirley Kirby of Hudson; Barbara Branch and husband John of Hudson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Robin?s life will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Joel Bixler and Preacher Kevin Broyhill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, prior to the service at Temple Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be: Joe Brown, Danny Brown, Lee Lingerfelt Jr., Jeff Branch, Bobby Beane, Billy Joe Snodgrass, Mitch McLean and Bryan Greene. Honorary Pallbearer will be Brandon Greene.
