Robert (Bob) Stewart, age 80, of Granite Falls, NC, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, January 02, 2021. He was born in Buie’s Creek, NC, on November 28, 1940, to the late Allene Coleman Stewart and Robert Linwood Stewart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Sue. Bob lived in Caldwell County the majority of his adult life and enjoyed several fields of employment. He retired as a long-distance truck driver for UPS Freight; he was a Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputy and detective for a number of years and a former member of the US Army National Guard Reserves. His life-long passion was radio broadcasting, which he was very good at and enjoyed immensely. He was well-known for his deep “radio voice” and was very well versed in all genres of music. Bob is survived by a son, Robert Stewart, Sr (and wife Lori) a daughter, Brooke Stewart Pickrell (and husband Jasen) his ex-wife and caregiver, Deborah Bolick Stewart (and companion Richard Pawlicki) and one grandson. There will be no service at this time, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to either Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care, or the Alzheimer’s Association of NC.
