Curtis Robbins Lenoir, NC- Mr. Robert Curtis Robbins, age 86, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Caldwell Hopsice. Mr. Robbins was born in Caldwell County on September 23, 1927 to the late Oscar Jones Robbins and Cora Mae Tuttle Robbins. He was married to Rayma Lou Kirby Robbins of the home for 61 years. He was a beloved husband, father, papa and friend. He was faithful in his work for the Lord at Crest View Baptist Church. Mr. Robbins was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 28 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Oscar Carroll Robbins. Other than his wife, he is survived by his son Steven Robbins and wife, Linda; grandson, Andrew Coffey and wife, Annie; grandson, Christopher Robbins and wife, Suzy; great-granddaughter, Bailey Robbins; grandson, Brian Robbins and wife, Lauren; granddaughter, Stephanie Robbins and fiancée, Jeff Thumm; son John Robbins and wife, Sharon; granddaughter, Amy Smith and husband, Eric; great-granddaughter, Sawyer Anne; grandsons, Benjamin Smith and Henry Smith; grandson, Andrew Robbins and wife, Carrie; great-granddaughters, Grace Robbins, McKinley Robbins, and Carter Finwall; great-grandson, Scott Robbins; daughter Anne Wilcox and husband, Daniel; grandsons, Danny Wilcox and Kyle Wilcox. A celebration of Mr. Robbins’ life will be held at Crest View Baptist Church on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Mike Isaacs officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with military honors. Pallbearers will be Mr. Robbins’ grandsons. The family will receive friends at Crest View Baptist Church on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
