Robert Gerald Mcclure

Lenoir – Mr. Robert Gerald McClure, Sr., age 86, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Charles George VA Hospice in Asheville. He was born in Johnson County, TN on August 22, 1928 to the late John Calvin McClure and Julia Trivett McClure. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice B. McClure; son, Robert G. McClure, Jr.; and daughter, Alice K. Eggers. Mr. McClure was a retired Platoon Sgt. in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his son, James A. McClure and daughters, Bonnie J. McClure and Verna L. Hollar; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 4:30 until 5:30 PM. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Jernigan officiating.
