Robert Hamby

Mr. Robert Lee Hamby, Sr., age 76, of Lenoir passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. Born July 26, 1942 in Caldwell county, Robert was a son of the late William and Stella Gilbert Hamby.Robert was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church.Robert was the best pool player in Caldwell county.He was a man of the Lord and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Hamby and Jerry Hamby; a sister, Linda Hamby. Survivors include his wife, Katie Laney Hamby of the Home; two sons, Robert Lee Hamby, Jr. (wife Marisa) of Lenoir and Billy Hamby (wife Donna) of Lenoir; two daughters, Donna Ford (husband Bobby) of Gamewell and Leann Hamby of Lenoir; three brothers, John, Charles and Bub; four sisters, Fran, Mildred, Brenda and Nancy;his grandchildren, Amber, Bridget, Bobby, Brandy, Heather, Raven, Shay and Shyan; seven great grandchildren; Alexa, Noah, Addison, Conner, Gunnar, Chloe and Suri; Robert is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Horace Minton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Nazareth Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
