Robert G. Miller

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Robert G. Miller of the Gamewell Community passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2009. Born January 5, 1929 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Perkins Miller, Sr. and Julia Clyde Sigmon Miller. Mr. Miller retired from Burke County Schools Maintenance Department. Prior to his 15 years of service with BCPS, he was a self employed home builder. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Julia M. Rudisill and three brothers, Mark A. Miller, Lawrence P. Miller, Jr. and Ben S. Miller. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Olivia Church Miller and his daughter, Karla Olivia Miller. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Belleview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service, 1070 Taylorsville Road, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., prior to the service.
