Robert Lane Barrier

Robert Lane Barrier, age 65, of Jonas Ridge, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 1, 2019 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.He was born October 9, 1953 in Burke County to the late William Robert “Reed” Barrier and Alvareeta Fox Barrier.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Barrier and one brother, Timothy Barrier. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Denny Bowman of Altamont, NC; two sons, Brian Barrier of Valdese and Matthew Barrier of Morganton; two beloved grandchildren, Keilah and Jonas Bowman; sister, Teresa Holland-Lyall (Randy) of North Cove; and two brothers, Greg Barrier (Eva) of Glen Alpine and Audie Barrier of Jonas Ridge.He loved his two dogs, Little Ann and Bear very much. Robert Lane was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing.He will be sorely missed by all. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate the life of Robert Lane will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2019 beginning at 6:00 PM at Jonas Ridge Fire Department.
