Robert Barlowe

Hudson – Reverend Robert Lee Barlowe, age 67, went Home to be with his Lord Jesus on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born in Caldwell County on July 13, 1948 to the late Roy Lee Barlowe and Sophia Mae Triplett Barlowe. Reverend Barlowe was a veteran of the United States Army. He received his Doctorate of Divinity and served at Cedar Rock Baptist Church, Howard’s Creek Baptist Church in Boone, Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church and was the founding pastor of Covenant Baptist Church. His ministry spanned for more than 30 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Jo Barlowe and Sue Rebecca Barlowe. Reverend Barlowe is survived by his sons, Mark Barlowe and wife, Amity; Aaron Barlowe and wife, Misty; brothers and sisters, Aldon Barlowe; Roy “Bub” Barlowe; Patricia Day; Johnny Barlowe; Mike Barlowe; Dotty Bolick; Audrey Younce; Lynn Isaacs; and Tammy Teeters; grandsons, Garrett, Gavin, Brody and Braxton Barlowe; his special friend, Carolyn Hatley; and numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. A celebration of Reverend Barlowe’s life will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Sam Craven, Pastor Lynn Parsons, Pastor Tony Greer and Pastor David Beane officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with military honors. Pallbearers will be Matt Pennell, Isaac Pennell, Chris Younce, Scott Barlowe, Todd James and Matt Boulanger. Tim Younce will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at Union Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
