Robert Baker

Morganton- Mr. Robert Baker, age 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 16, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center of Morganton. He was born in Lothair, Kentucky on April 6, 1926 to the late Rob and Polly Baker. He is also preceded in death by his son Darrell Baker. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years Mary Rose Baker. He is also survived by his children Violet Hopkins and husband Buddy, Linda-Sue Ricciardelli and husband Dan, Robert Dale Baker, and John Baker and wife Azilah. He is also survived by one sister Marie Rainey. The special joys of his life were his fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He also had very special nieces and nephews too numerous to name. Robert spent four years as a MEDEVAC during WWII. After his time in the service he worked at Chrysler Corporation for thirty plus years where he retired. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and in his woodshop. Mr. Baker loved his family and spent as much time as he could with them. A funeral service honoring Mr. Baker’s life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Hartland Baptist Church. Reverend Todd Smith and Reverend Daniel Ricciardelli officiating. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.Pallbearers will be Von Triplett, Matthew Triplett, Robert Triplett, Doug Cook, Randy Pennell and Rob Baker.
