Lenoir, NC- Mr. Robert ?Bobby? Jackson Alexander, age 65, of Dove Street, died Monday, August 21, 2006 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born February 16, 1941 in Norfolk, Virginia, Mr. Alexander was a son of the late Willis Jackson and Idell Shook Alexander. Mr. Alexander was an electrical contractor and had served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Dry Ponds Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school and the Royal Ambassadors. He was a former member of Central Baptist Church and Poovey Grove Baptist Church. He loved riding motorcycles and playing music with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Hines Alexander of the home; his daughter, Nancy Danette Keener of Lenoir; his son, Robert Shawn Alexander of Lenoir; three sisters; Hilda Poole and husband Bob of Fort Mill, SC; Sylvia Anderson and husband Joel of Lenoir; Phylis Villanouella and husband Jimmy of St. Stephens, SC; one granddaughter, Nancy Brianna Keener and grandson, Austin Jarrett ?A.J.? Keener, both of Lenoir. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Soderburg. A celebration of Mr. Alexander?s life will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Dry Ponds Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Crouse and Reverend John Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Dry Ponds Baptist Church from 6 until 7:30 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2006.
