Robert A. Hamby

Lenoir- Robert Alandth Hamby, age 58, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on June 4, 1958 to Bruce A. Craig and the late Ola Barlow Hamby. Robert was a life-long Harley-Davidson fan and even did rides for Toys for Tots in his younger years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and his dog, Ozzie. He was pretty much a “jack of all trades” construction worker. He was a man who lived life his own way, in his own fashion. In addition to his mother, Robert was preceded in death by his step-father, John Hamby and step-mother, Peggy Craig. He is also survived by his son, Cody A. Hamby and wife, Kristen; sisters, Robin Carswell and husband, Eddie; Crystal Bolick; brother, Charles Hamby; grandchildren, Anson, Adley and Abe; and his nieces and nephew. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Hoss Moore officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
