Rita Lee Watson

Lenoir, NC- Mrs.  Rita Lee Parton Watson, age 68, of Lenoir, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Gateway Nursing Home. Born December 4, 1942 in Gaston County, Rita was a daughter of the late Lester and Myrtle Story Parton. She had worked many years as an inventory clerk in the furniture industry. She loved her flowers and hanging baskets. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nicie Parton Williams and Sue Parton Thomas; and one brother, Larry Parton. Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Debbie and Nathan Huffman of Lenoir; a son and his Fiancé, Robert W. Watson and Tammy Henson of Lenoir; one brother and sister in law, Tony and Laura Parton of Lenoir; five grandchildren, Travis Townsend, Bradley Townsend, Rebecca Townsend, Shannon Huffman, and Tiffany Huffman; five great grandchildren, Dakota Huffman, Payten Kirby, Andrew Townsend, Haley Wilson and Erica Dula. A celebration of Rita’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Jack Moses officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Hamm, Steve Williams, Scott Williams, Mark Thomas, Larry Parton, Jr., and Bradley Townsend. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Huffman, Kevin Thomas, Travis Townsend and Barry Thomas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM  prior to the service.
