Rita Jones

Rita Mayne Jones, age 80, of Lenoir, NC passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at AMOREM Hospice of Hudson, NC.

Rita, who was born in Corbin, KY, was the daughter of the late Thomas Coyt Mayne and Eva Cox Mayne.  Rita married Jerwyn D. Jones, who survives her, on June 1, 1960 in Asheville, NC.  Other survivors include daughters Lydia Jones (Ronnie Greene) and Angela (Alan) Schoonover, both of Lenoir.  Rita’s much loved and cherished granddaughter, Riley Schoonover (David Moore) of Raleigh, NC also survives her.  Other survivors include brothers Bill Mayne of Rocky Face, GA, Ken (Cheryl) Mayne of Corbin, KY, Barry (Dora) Mayne of Corbin, KY and sister, Linda (Allen) Mayne Sevier of Richmond, KY.  Additionally, she is survived by four nieces, including Carey (Kevin) Terry and Stacy Mayne, both of Corbin, KY who visited her recently and great nieces and great nephew.  She is also survived by special cousins, Muriel Johnson and Brenda (Charles) Jody, both of Corbin, KY.

The family would like to thank the kind and considerate staff at AMOREM        (Robbins Center) of Hudson, NC.
