Richard Dean Starnes

Hudson, NC- Mr. Richard Dean Starnes, age 43, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on August 6, 1967 to Dennis Starnes and Loretta Kirby Hefner. Richard was a loving husband, father, son and friend. He was a member of Poovey?s Chapel Baptist Church. Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Adam Starnes and grandparents, Dewey and Lita Starnes and Margaret and James Kirby. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Melissa Bunton Starnes of the home; daughter, MacKenzie Starnes of the home; daughter, Ciara Arnett Oakley and husband Wesley of Lenoir; stepfather, Jerry Hefner of Conover; stepmother, Sharon Starnes of Granite Falls; brother, Mark Starnes and wife Beth of Granite Falls. A celebration of Richard?s life will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Poovey?s Chapel Baptist Church at 4:00 with Pastor?s Nicky Waters, Mark Dula and David Woods officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 6:00 until 7:30 at Poovey?s Chapel Baptist Church.
