Richard Reece

Richard Reece Hudson- Richard Allen Reece, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice.He was born in Oxford, NC on November 16, 1937 to the late George and Nanny Lou Riggin Reece. Mr. Reece was a U.S. Navy veteran for which he was very proud and worked as awelder and construction worker for many years. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Calloway Reece; grandsons, Lucas Reece and Chris Church; great-granddaughter, Rebekah Reece; brother, Eddie Reece; and his sister, Margaret Calhoun. Mr. Reece is survived by his son, Reggie Reece of the home; daughter, Teresa Brown and husband, Jim of Lenoir; sister, Barbara Calloway; grandchildren, Scarlet Glover; Dustin Church; Ethan Reece; Chase Reece and Caleb Reece; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives. A memorial service for Mr. Reece will be held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church on Christy Road in Hudson on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Clyde Bumgarner and Pastor Bill Bentley officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
