Richard Eugene Phillips

Richard Phillips Lenoir, NC- Richard Eugene Phillips, age 55, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Gettysburg, PA on July 3, 1958 to Reece Phillips and the late Virginia Faye Barrett. He was married to Patricia Pennell Phillips of the residence for 33 years. Richard worked at Thomasville Furniture and was a member of East Flat Baptist Church for over 30 years. He loved collecting cigarette lighters, fishing and playing golf. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Phillips, Gertie Phillips, Beatrice Barrett, and Pless Barrett. Other than his wife and father he is survived by his son, Scott Phillips; brothers, Eldridge Phillips and Randy Phillips; niece, Dawn McCoy; and nephews, Cody Phillips, John Phillips, Douglas Sigmon, and Frankie Speagle. A celebration of Richard̢۪s life will be held at East Flat Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Mike Gragg and Brooks Kirby officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 at the church.
