Blowing Rock, NC – Mr. Richard Francis “Dicky” Jones passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Blowing Rock Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 21, 1953 in Greensboro, NC, Richard was a son of the late William Rhodes Jones Sr. and Stuart McMurray Jones. After spending some time in the Florida Keys, Richard had a love of seafood that led him to become a chef. His love of the mountains brought him back to North Carolina and Blowing Rock, where he continued to cook in various local restaurants. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Rhodes Jones, Jr. Survivors include a sister, Barbara Jones Critz of Ocala, FL; and six beloved nieces and nephews. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Saturday February 9, 2013 at the Green Park Inn in Blowing Rock from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Medi-Home Hospice at 436 Hospital Drive, Suite 205, Linville, NC 28646 or the Nurses of the Blowing Rock Extended Care at P.O.
