Richard "Buster" Johnson

Mr. Richard “Buster” Johnson, age 72, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Gateway Nursing and Rehab. Born November 29, 1947 in Caldwell county, Buster was a son of the late Jack and Earnestine Corpening Johnson.Buster was a Christian by faith and had worked many years as a brick mason.He enjoyed participating in arts and crafts at Gateway.He was an avid fisherman.In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Jack “June” Johnson and a sister, Elizabeth “Ann” Gore. Survivors include his siblings, Carolyn Johnson (companion Will C. Hill) and Larry Lavon Johnson (wife Betty); he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Buster’s life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 4:00 PM.
