Lenoir– Mr. Rex Hardin Wright, age 58, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home.Born June 7, 1957 in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late Claude Goodman, Sr. and the late Thelma Dakota Coffey Wright. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Claude “Bill” Goodman, Jr. and James Stephen “Pap” Wright. Rex was a renowned welder and was known to “lay down dimes.”He was the youngest of nine children and was a beloved husband and brother.He will be remembered for his infectious smile and his wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Carol Ducker Wright of the home; one sister, Kaye Wright Epley and husband Jimmy of Morganton; five brothers, Charles Wright and wife Glenda of Lenoir; Rodney Wright of Lenoir; Thomas Wright of Lenoir; Rocky Wright of Collettsville; William Wright of Greenville, SC and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A celebration of Rex’s life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Ed Warren officiating.Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be:Charles Wright, Rod Wright, Brooks Wright, Will Wright, Jared Wright and Chad Wright.Honorary Pallbearers will be:Rocky Wright, Thomas Wright, Jeff Pitts, Elijah Wright, Jimmy Epley, Jeremy Wright, Christopher Ducker, Riley Watson and Ethan Watson. The family respectfully requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or Burke Hospice, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
