Douglas Howell went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

He was born on July 15, 1958, to the late Wade Howell and Carolyn Brown Howell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Jeanne Triplett and Kay Hochschild.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Rhonda Howell; sons Matthew Howell (Sarah) and Nicholas Howell (Elizabeth), and 3 precious grandchildren, Cameron Howell, Loralei Howell and Colbie Howell, his brother Wade Howell (Susan); sisters, Kathy Hendrick (Andy) and Patsy Gentry (Doug); brother-in-law Terry Triplett as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Doug worked in the milk and ice cream industry for over 20 years, from ice cream sales/delivery to route supervisor and then branch manager. While at Pet Dairy as Branch Manager he was awarded the Golden Branch Award. Those who worked for him described him as fair and honest. He then surrendered to the ministry call. He returned to school for a degree in Religion and Sociology. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Gardner Webb University.

He pastored four churches and dearly loved his last assignment at Blackburn Baptist. He loved to hunt and fish, to work in his yard and just be outside. He said he talks to the Lord on the lawn mower. He loved to watch the grandchildren in sports and horseback riding. He loved his family and church family.
