Reginald "Reggie" Jerry Cikanek

Reggie Cikanek, 82, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his residence.

Reggie was born April 14, 1941 to the late Harry and Bess Cikanek of Caldwell County.

He loved his family so much, and loved being surrounded by family and friends. Reggie had a love for laughter, music, and dancing, as well as, going hunting and fishing.

Reggie was an electrician and was retired from Electric Wiring Company of Hickory, NC, where he was a faithful employee and job foreman for 35 plus years.

In addition to his parents, Reggie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Patricia Lovins Cikanek; one daughter, Beverly C. Chandler, one brother Harry Cikanek, Jr.; four sisters Dorothy C. Shew, Louise C. Edwards, Shirley C. Hall, and Jewel C. Hollar.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, one son, Richard A. Cikanek; two daughters, Gayle C. Frye and husband Chris Frye, and Camilla C. McLean and husband Jody McLean, special girlfriend, Carolyn Bentley; grandchildren; Joshua Chandler, Matthew Chandler, Macie Frye, step-granddaughter; Ahna Robbins McLean, one great-grandchild, Nathan Smith; great-great grandson, Brayden Smith; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews, lastly, his big dog Sparky.

Reggie will be remembered by his willingness to always lend a helping hand, the love for his family, and the laughter and joy he brought to everyone.

A celebration service in Reggie’s memory will be held at Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
