Reba Walsh Setzer

Mrs. Reba Walker Walsh Setzer, age 86, formerly of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord. Born July 22, 1926 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Setzer was a daughter of the late William “Coot” Rufus Walker and Nellie Bishop Walker. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Mack Edward Walsh; 2 brothers, William “Bill” Sherrill Walker and Joseph Thomas Walker and two sisters, Ponsie Walker Gentry and Wanda Walker Bebber. Mrs. Setzer was a homemaker and loved her Lord. She was a devoted, loving and caring mother. During her younger years, she attended College Avenue Baptist Church and attended Lenoir High School. She currently attended Brookdale Baptist Church in Kannapolis. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff of Carolinas Medical Center Northeast and Hospice of Cabarrus County. She is survived by four children, Diane Yates of Kannapolis; Danny Mark Walsh of Kannapolis; Reverend Steven O. Walsh and wife Sharon of Lenoir; Brent Edward Walsh and wife Linda of Concord; 2 sisters, Winnifred Walker Holden and Patricia Walker Biggerstaff, both of Lenoir; 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Setzer’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Steven Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
