Reba spent her early years growing up in beautiful Yadkin Valley and was the valedictorian of the class of 1951 at Happy Valley High School. After they married, she and Dwight raised four children teaching them the value of hard work and perseverance. Reba’s ability to cook started at a very young age.Over the years, she developed into the phenomenal cook that her family and others grew to love. She enjoyed cooking for her family most, but still made sure to cook for church socials and those in need. She and Dwight were avid gardeners for many years until their health prevented them from continuing.Their gardens produced many fruits and vegetables that were used in the delicious foods for which she was known. She relished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Always, the doting grandmother, she made sure each of them had what “they” wanted to eat as well as many other sweets and treats. She was there to intervene when the “grands” behavior was somewhat lacking, especially when “her” kids were ready to deliver some loving correction.
