Raymond E. Walker

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Raymond Eugene Walker, age 71, of Lenoir, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born June 11, 1937 in Caldwell County, Mr. Walker was a son of the late George William and Bessie Dyson Walker. Mr. Walker was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a foreman in the furniture industry. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnne Watson and Georgia Walker; and one brother, Buddy Walker. He is survived by his son, Charles Walker and wife Jerri of Lenoir; 5 sisters, Lois Costner and husband Charles of Lenoir; Doris Walker of Blowing Rock; Sue Clark of Collettsville; Judy Whisnant and husband Reggie of Indian Trail; Diane Price and husband James of Lenoir; one brother, Wayne Walker and wife Beth of Morganton; granddaughter, Sarah Walker of Lenoir; grandson, Charlie Walker of Lenoir; his caretaker, Janeeta Smith of Lenoir and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Walker?s life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Rick Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church.
