Raymond "Pepaw" Thomas Carpenter, Jr.

Raymond “Pepaw” Thomas Carpenter, Jr., 73, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family.

Raymond was born on May 16, 1951, to the late Raymond Carpenter, Sr. and Myrtle Faye Carpenter.

Those left to cherish Pepaw’s memory are his wife of 21 years, Lorraine “Memaw” Carpenter, 1 daughter, 2 sons, 3 step daughters and husbands, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his beloved fur baby, Snoop.

Pepaw was a kind loving father and grandfather.  He loved to work on vehicles, garden, loved flowers, and he enjoyed mowing.  Although his days in retirement were short, he was sure to make the most of every moment he had.  Pepaw was a big chocolate eater, and loved his sweets.  Pepaw loved his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.  They loved him just the same.  The children at St. Judes were very important to him. He contributed to St. Judes for 19 years.

Pepaw loved the Lord.  He was proud to share his testimony and tell others that God can do for them what He did for him.  He wanted his family and friends to go to Heaven.  He cared about the kids and their relationship with God.

Pepaw would have wanted everyone to know, “I love you, You are my World, and I will be praying for you.”

The family will have a gathering of friends to remember Pepaw and his life on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
