Mr. Ray “Buster” Thaddius Webb, age 66 of Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Health Care in Lenoir.Born July 13, 1948 in Caldwell County, Mr. Webb was a son of the late Flim Ray and Christine Crawford Webb and the husband of Teresa Beane Webb, of the home to whom he had shared 45 years of marriage. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Webb. Buster was a self-employed painter and loved hunting and fishing.He was a member of First Baptist Church-Whitnel.He will best be remembered for the love he had for his family. He had served in the US Army during Vietnam as a sharp shooter and received the Purple Heart. Surviving other than his wife are three sons, Shawn Webb, Benson Webb and Joshua Webb, all of Lenoir; two sisters, Faye Combs and husband Vernon and Betty Jean Tolbert and husband David, all of Lenoir and six grandchildren, Chase, Mason, Hunter, MacKenzie, Izaiah and Kaitlyn.He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Buster’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Stuart White officiating followed by Military Honors provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
