Ramona Kanupp

Mrs. Ramona Kay Kanupp, age 66, of Lenoir passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born on June 5, 1954 in Caldwell county, Ramona was a daughter of the late Roy and Junie Trivette Ashley.Ramona was member of Rock Spring Baptist Church, where she played the piano for over 21 years.Ramona enjoyed being involved with mission work through her church and being a Christian witness for others. She was a caregiver and enjoyed taking care of anyone who needed help.Ramona enjoyed working with her flowers and going shopping.She will be remembered as being uplifting and jovial.She enjoyed havinggood fellowship with family and friends.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Ashley and Bobby Ashley. Survivors include her husband 46 years, Roy Kanupp; her children, Jason Kanupp (wife Angela) and Shanna Woodie (husband Jason) and Teddy; a sister, Tamara Whittington (husband Jerry); a brother, Ronnie Ashley (Kathy); two grandsons, Eli Woodie and Isaac Kanupp; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Ramona’s life will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Rock Spring Baptist Church, 7709 Elk Creek Darby Road, Ferguson with her husband, Pastor Roy Kanupp and Pastor Gurnie Robbins officiating.Interment will follow in the Laytown Baptist Church Cemetery on Laytown Rd., Lenoir. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
