Ralph Lester Tolbert

Ralph Lester Tolbert Jr., age 79, of Granite Falls, NC, passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2024. He was born on Wednesday, July 26th, 1944, in Caldwell County, North Carolina to his late parents, Ralph Tolbert Sr. and Florence Roberts.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel J. Coffey, great-grandson, Lil Mac Miller; two infant sisters; sister, Betty Bean; and brothers, Paul Clontz and Ronnie Tolbert.

Ralph will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Judy Reece Tolbert; daughters, Andra Tolbert, Joy Childers (Steve Greene), and Amy Thompson (Tim); Son, Ronnie Smith (Marsha); brothers, Dan Tolbert (Elaine), and David Tolbert;  grandchildren, Ashley Smith (Jason), Jeffrey Meadows (Jamie), Tyler Thompson (Cam), Julie Childers (Eddie), Aaron Thompson, Alyssa Anderson (Jeremy), Anna Workman (Benjamin), Stephanie Miller (ID), Kadee Thompson, Jared Childers (April), Amber Smith, Austin Smith, Savannah Childers (Adam), Emma Smith, and Ashlyn Thompson, 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ralph proudly served in the Army and worked as a Truck Driver for Southway Trucking Co. and Century Furniture. He enjoyed upholstering cars, drag racing, watching western movies, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.

Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Ralph's life at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 2:00pm - 3:00pm for a visitation, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00pm. The burial will take place at Temple Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Amorem Hospice.
