Rachel Coffey Philyaw

Hickory- Mrs. Rachel Coffey Philyaw, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Brian Center Viewmont. She was born in Caldwell County on November 25, 1938 to the late Lester and Alice Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Philyaw; son, Randy Philyaw; and two sisters. Mrs. Philyaw is survived by her daughters, Debby Savacool and husband, Randy; Lora Greene and husband, Eddie; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Philyaw requested that her service be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans in honor of Leo and Randy Philyaw’s service to their country; 4113 Hickory Nut Ridge Road, Hudson, NC 28638.
