Rabon King

Mr. Rabon Delmore King, age 82, of Lenoir passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born September 18, 1936 in Caldwell County, Rabon was a son of the late Dewey Jacob and Ada S. King.He was a member of Flemmings Chapel Baptist Church.He was retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture Company after 36 years of service.He loved going to his cabin in West Virginia where he spent a lot of time hunting and fishing.He also enjoyed spending time at Watauga Lake and Wilson’s Creek.The thing he enjoyed most was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joyce “Ivolee” King a daughter, Freida Diane King; and a brother, Harold D. King. Survivors include his three sons, Darren King (girlfriend Denise Livingston) and Jimmy King of Lenoir, and Timmy King (wife Lisa) of Hudson; a brother, Billy King (wife Linda) of Lenoir; six grandchildren, Derek King, Tyra Dotson, Dustin Darnell, Tonya King, Chasity Michael and Erica Gales; he is also survived by nine great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Rabon’s life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Jim Lee officiating.Interment will follow the service at Flemmings Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Chester, Kenny Bo Dotson, Mike Drumm, Kendall Gales, Scott Helton, Todd King, Jason Woodie and Rob Byerly.
