Pete Pennell

Pete Pennell, 64, of Hickory, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Valdese General Hospital. Pete was born in Caldwell County to his mother, Grace Tolbert McLemore on April 2, 1958. Pete spent his career in construction. Pete was known for his love of cars, including his love for Volkswagen and NASCAR; and he loved to fish. Pete was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend that will be missed greatly.

Pete is preceded in death by his step-father, Roy McLemore and his late maternal grandparents Dow and Bernice Tolbert formerly of Lenoir.

In addition to his mother, Pete is survived by his children Justin Todd Pennell of Newton and Misty Arrowood of Gamewell. He is survived by his two sisters: Sue Dydek of Lenoir and Lynn Wallace of Hickory. He is survived by one brother: Randy Pennell and wife Anne of Hickory. Pete is survived by his grandchildren: Mackenzie, Bradyn, Jensyn and Madilyn. Pete leaves behind his dear friend Teresa Noblitt of Newton. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He also leaves behind his beloved fur-baby Midget.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, September 4, 2022 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The family wants all guests to come in casual, comfortable clothing.
