Penny Greene

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Penny Phillips Greene, age 56, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Caldwell County on May 29, 1958 to Wilma Jean Phillips and the late Banks Wilson Phillips. Penny was married to Donald L. Greene of the residence. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Homer Deaton and Ruby Harris and her paternal grandparents, Jesse B. Phillips and Allie Mae Greer Phillips. Other than her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughters, Misty Greene Barlowe and husband, Aaron; Amy Greene Stapleton and husband, Jacob; step-daughter, Amanda Page Hewitt; sisters, Lynn Phillips Martin and husband, Mike; Marsha Phillips Gilliam and husband, Clark; two grandsons, Brody Luke Barlowe and Braxton Layne Barlowe; two step-granddaughters, Payton Ryleigh Hewitt and Erryn Reese Hewitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Penny’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Reverend Jim Evans officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Avery Turbyfill, Scott Turnmire, Duane Turnmire, Michael Turnmire, Trevor Gilliam, and Rick Greene. Honorary pallbearers will be David McCall, Bobby Herman and Mike Bolick. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 prior to the service.
