Peggy Devan Jones

Hudson, NC- Peggy Mae DeVan Jones, age 50, of Hudson, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at her home. Born August 1, 1960 in Baltimore, MD, Peggy was a daughter of the late Charles and Oda Carnes DeVan and the wife of Christopher Kelly Jones, Sr. of the home. Peggy was a clothing seamstress and enjoyed spending time with the apples of her eye, Sierra and Payton. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold DeVan, Sr. and Roy DeVan. Surviving other than her husband are two sons, Christopher Kelly Jones, Jr. and Michael Charles Jones, both of Hudson; 3 sisters, Rose Lamb of Florida; Lola Johns of Maryland; Juanita Nichols of West Virginia; one brother, Paul DeVan of Lenoir and 2 grandchildren, Sierra Marie Jones and Payton Shawn Jones. A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Gospel Truth Ministries with Reverend Michael Minton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
