Peggy Summerow Craig

Lenoir, NC-  Mrs. Peggy Summerow Craig, age 74, of Lenoir, passed away on Wednesday, January 02, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born August 29, 1938 in Caldwell County, Peggy was a daughter of the late Haywood and Elizabeth “Betty” Cardwell. Peggy enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions. She was a cafeteria worker in the Caldwell County School System for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Bruce A. Craig of the Home, a step daughter, Robin Carswell, husband Eddie, of Gamewell; a step son, Robert Hamby of Lenoir; a very special niece, Lisa Young, husband Matt, of Granite Falls; one sister, Hazel Freeman of Hudson; grandchildren, Kaylin Carswell and Cody Hamby; her faithful pets, Smokey and Trixie; Peggy is also survived by numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of Peggy’s life will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
