Granite Falls, NC- Mrs. Pearl Fayetine Moore Cannon, age 79, of Granite Falls, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from her home. Born June 20, 1932 in Wilkes County, Mrs. Cannon was a daughter of the late Wilson and Peggy Shew Moore and the wife of Ivey Eugene Cannon, Sr. to whom they were married for over 49 years. Mrs. Cannon was homemaker and member of Grandview Park Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Surviving other than her husband are 2 daughters, Pearlie Mae Williams and husband Charlie of Lenoir; Patty Jean Vines and husband Joey of Hudson; 4 sons, Jimmy Lee Laws and wife Vivian of Lenoir; Earl Wilson Laws and wife Debra of Lenoir; Lawrence Duke Laws of Gamewell; Ivey Eugene Cannon, II of Hickory; 1 brother, Earl Moore and wife Mabel of Lenoir; 16 Grandchildren; 22Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Cannon’s life will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Grandview Park Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Spann and Reverend Tony Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 until 4 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Jordie and Justin Cannon; Seth Vines, Matt Laws, Dustin Jones and Jeff Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brandon Edwards and Joey Barlow.
