Pauline P. Keyes

October 29, 1920 — March 4, 2014

Pauline Keyes was welcomed into the home of angels on Tuesday March 4, 2014. She was given many happy and prosperous years on this earth. Pauline leaves vacant a place in the heart of those who knew and loved her. She was born in Haywood County, NC. After graduating high school she attended Johnson Bible College in TN. For many years she was manager of Abernethy̢۪s Bakery in Lenoir before later purchasing it. Mrs. Keyes was the daughter of the late Laura and Jasper Plemmons. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Vanda Story Crisp , three sisters Dora, Zora and Nola and a brother Orris all of whom she loved deeply. Pauline practiced her Christian faith and attended the Lenoir Church of Christ. Left behind to mourn her passing is a much loved daughter, Jan Story - 334 Eastover Circle, Lenoir. Mrs. Keyes had 3 grandchildren. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren with many loving nieces and nephews. Pauline also leaves behind a loving sister, Ella and her husband Dennis Greene of Lenoir. Mourning her passing as well is a very special nephew, Rodney Greene, never missing an opportunity to visit with her. Each visit she cherished deeply and always looked forward to the next one. Pauline also had a special friend whom she had stayed in contact with since high school, Dean Reeves, of Waynesville, NC. She always looked forward and enjoyed his calls. The caregivers at Lenoir Park endeared themselves to her; she felt as if they were part of her family. A celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Mr. Claude Pharr will officiate. Her burial will be private. Jan will welcome friends and family anytime at 334 Eastover Circle, Lenoir. It is requested that any remembrances be made in the form of a donation to the East Tenn Children̢۪s Home, PO Box 10, Spring Hill, TN. 37174 marked for the Blountville home in TN.
