Pauline "Polly" Bentley

Pauline “Polly” Bentley, 94, of Lenoir, passed away at home on January 4, 2019. Mrs. Bentley was born on March 25, 1924 in Caldwell County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Greene. Mrs. Bentley was married for over 30 years to the late Mr. Malcolm Bentley. She was a faithful member of Crest View Baptist Church. Through the years, she served as the Choir Director, Senior Citizens Choir Director, Church Librarian, and she was a dedicated member of the WMU (Woman's Missionary Union).Polly was a shining light in the lives of all that she met and beloved by many. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bentley is preceded in death by her son Gerald Everette Bentley, Sr. and a daughter Sandra Bentley Younce. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rodney "Hayes" Greene and sister, Peggy Greene Spears. Mrs. Bentley is survived by her son Ronny Bentley. She is, also, survived by grandchildren: Gerald E. Bentley, Jr. and wife Anne; Suzy Plyler and husband Danny; Elizabeth Moore; James L. Bentley and wife Alena; Rusty Lee, and Danny Lee. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Brenda Bentley. Mrs. Bentley leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren. There will be a service to celebrate the life of Pauline Bentley held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Crest View Baptist Church; officiated by Pastor Michael Isaacs. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be immediately after the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be sent to the Crest View Baptist Church Building Fund, 1908 Blowing Rock Blvd., Lenoir, NC 28645.
