Lenoir – Mr. Paul Dale Walsh, age 83, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.Born January 5, 1931 in Wilkes County, Mr. Walsh was a son of the late Thomas Fedrick and Lucy Jane Hatton Walsh and the husband of Mrs. Winnifred “Winnie” Vines Walsh to whom they shared 64 years of marriage. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Larry Walsh, son-in-law, Tony Williams and brothers, Raymond “Cap” Walsh, Roland Hill “Bill” Walsh, Daniel Walsh, Federick Walsh and Tom Ernest “John” Walsh. Mr. Walsh was a timber man by trade.He cruised timber, operated a sawmill and had owned Walsh Logging.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a member of the NRA.He was a deer hunter and may be best known for all of the cookouts at Walsh’s Pond. Surviving other than his wife Winnie, is his son, Horace Walsh and wife Joann, daughters, Paulette Williams; Elaine Walsh and Lee Bryant; and Becky Jones and husband William.He is also survived by two sisters, Sidie Walsh and Mattie Sherrill; grandchildren, Brandi Williams; Jamie Robbins and husband Mark, Sparkle Walsh, Tera Harwood, Sierra Harwood Milo Lowman; great-grandchildren, Jessi Williams, Journey Curtis, Payton Webb; Kenya Craft; Brooke Robbins and Great-great-grandson, Raiden James Williams.He is also survived by many neighbors and friends who thought of him as a Dad. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service.Military Honors will be observed at 6:30 PM at Evans Funeral Service during the receiving.A private service will be held at a later date.
