Lenoir, NC- Mr. Paul Nelson Turner, age 64, of Lenoir, went to Heaven a shoutin? Sunday, July 26, 2009 in his home surrounded by his family. Born June 20, 1945 in Greenwood, SC, Mr. Turner was a son of the late Herman Jackson and Mary Elizabeth Bundrick Turner and the husband of Martha Bryant Turner of the home. Mr. Turner was a member of Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church where he operated the sound system. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Mr. Turner was a U.S. Army disabled veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a former instructor and trainer for the American Red Cross and worked on the Red Cross Disaster Team. Other than his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Amy Turner Duckworth and husband Joshua of Taylorsville; 3 sisters, Barbara Turner Sweat of Saluda, SC; Francey Turner Lowe of Greenwood, SC; Kimberly Turner McMahan of Greenwood, SC; 3 brothers, Clark Turner of Greenwood, SC; Michael Turner of Greenwood, SC and currently stationed in Korea; Max Turner of Ware Shoals, SC; 2 Aunts, Patsy Virginia Turner and Mattie Lee Turner Brewer, both of Greenwood, SC; a close cousin, Kenneth Conyers of Chappels, SC and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Mr. Turner?s life will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Keith Gilliam and Reverend David Crisp officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pallbearers will be: Robert Pearson, Sr., Robert Pearson, Jr., Chris Laws, Kenny McGee, Jeremy Story, Michael Puett and Michael Cape. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Robert Klein, Richard Woods, Fred Moody, Roy Parker, Thomas Ray Smith, Sr., Thomas Ray Smith, Jr. and Ernie Ridelhuber.
