Paul Douglas Knight

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Paul Douglas Knight, Sr. age 67, of Legion Road, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Gateway Nursing Center in Lenoir. Born September 24, 1938 in Lenoir, Mr. Knight was retired from Bernhardt Industries, Plant #1 with over 43 years of service. Mr. Knight graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1956 and was a member of the Church of God of Resurrection Hope. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Irene Baker Knight of the home; one son, Dr. Paul Douglas Knight, Jr. and his wife Dr. Charlene Pressley Knight of Mocksville; two grandsons, Micah Alexander Knight and Caleb Montgomery Knight, both of Mocksville and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by Henry and Lina Holder who raised him as their son. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Church of God of Resurrection Hope with Reverend James D. Ritch officiating. Burial will follow in the Holder-Sharpe Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Charles Smith, Gary Walker, Vernon Greene, George Brown, Paul Duncan and Travis Hamby. Honorary Pallbearer is Jerold Brewer. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 1:30 until 3:00 prior to the service at the church.
