Lenoir, NC- Reverend Paul H. Braswell, age 82, of Lenoir, went home to be with his Lord April 3, 2008. Born March 20, 1926 in Gaston County, Reverend Braswell was a son of the late Edward Lee and Lenoir Dolly Phillips Braswell and the husband of Mrs. Ruby McCall Braswell. Reverend Braswell was a U.S. Army Combat veteran of World War II where he received many military honors including the Bronze Star of Valor.  He was a graduate of Fruitland Bible College and had pastored several Baptist churches in Caldwell and Alexander Counties. Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon B. Cooper and husband Jim of North Wilkesboro; Paula B. Pope and husband David of Lenoir; one son, Timothy W. Braswell and wife Gloria of Lenoir; one sister, Eva Huffman of Hickory; six Grandchildren, Julie C. Ellison of Winston-Salem; Dr. Chris H. Cooper of Memphis, TN; T. Mark Braswell of Lenoir; Matthew W. Braswell of Lenoir; Andrew S. Pope of Sunset Beach; Ashlyn R. Pope of Lenoir and 4 Great-Grandchildren, Austin Ellison of Winston-Salem; Abigail Braswell of Lenoir; Taylor Ellison of Winston-Salem and Caroline Braswell of Lenoir. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Braswell and one sister, Betty McCall. A celebration of Reverend Braswell?s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Flemings Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Lester Honson and Reverend Gene Clarke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir. Pallbearers will be: Andrew Pope, Chris Cooper, Mark Braswell, Matthew Braswell, Frank Ellison and Archie Franklin.
