Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Patsy Ruth Barlowe Curtis, age 78, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born April 25, 1935 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Curtis was a daughter of the late Grady Abraham and Ruth Tuttle Barlowe and the wife of Mr. Nicholas Maxwell Curtis of the home. Mrs. Curtis was an amazing Mother and Mentor to all her family. She gave meaning to the word Grace. She loved Norman Rockwell paintings and cherished teaching the compassion of those moments he painted. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lenoir. Surviving other than husband is her daughter, Jana Elizabeth Curtis; Grandchildren, Savannah Caroline Curtis, Nicholas Christopher Wilson, Olivia Rose Wilson and two brothers, Robert and Maurice Barlowe. A service remembering the life of Patsy Ruth Barlowe Curtis will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Steve Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:00 until 2:00, prior to the service Saturday at United Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers will be: Devan Barlowe, Michael Isenhour, Michael Camp, Gunner Marcus, Chris Barlowe and Cody Smith.
