Patricia Sims

Patricia R. (Pat) Sims, 96 of Lenoir passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the Cranberry House in Newland, NC.

Pat was born on August 1, 1926 in San Diego, California.  She was preceded in death by husband, Gerald Robert Sims, brother, James Collin, and parents, Harold and Lucille Collin.

Pat leaves a daughter, Rosanne Sims Penley (Ernie) of Morganton, North Carolina, a granddaughter, Shannon Penley Brown (Scott) of Marietta, Georgia, and great-grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Erin Brown and Nicholas Brown, sister-in-law Marcie Collin of Olympia,Washington and nephews Jeff Collin, Steve Collin and Doug Collin, and special friends Ron and Terry Watts, Donna Roberts, and Dorothy Hecht.

Pat was a graduate of Averett College, Danville, Virginia in 1947. She was a homemaker who loved crafting and was known for her cross-stitch pictures that are hung in many homes near and far. While living in Blowing Rock she was the owner of Pat’s Knit Shop. She loved music, musical theater, reading, the mountains, and traveling when she was able to.

Per her wishes, a private burial will be held at a later date. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care given to Pat by the special people at Medi Home Hospice in Newland, NC and the Cranberry House in Newland. If desired, memorials may be made to either organization.
