Lenoir, NC- Pat S. Cox, age 67, of Lenoir, beloved Pastor’s wife for 47 years, went to be with her Lord and Savior the 26th of December 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center at 2:13 a.m. Born October 27, 1946 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Bob and Hettie Greene Gragg. Pat was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved her church family and singing in the choir. She was so proud of her boys and her grandchildren were the love of her life. Pat was known to be a kind, loving and humble person towards everyone. She stood by her husband as Pastor of Hibriten Baptist Church for 40 years and supported him with prayer and presence. She will be greatly missed by her family and church family. She is survived by her loving husband, Pastor Douglas Cox of the home; two sons, Paul Douglas Cox and wife Robin of Hudson; Monty Thomas Cox and wife Lisa of Granite Falls; 3 sisters, Betty Jean Bristol and husband Lee of Lenoir; Patricia Crotts and husband Gene of Hudson; Denise Phelps and husband Clayton of Lenoir; 5 brothers, Roger Gragg and wife Sheila of Hudson; Bob Gragg of Lenoir; Randy Gragg of Lenoir; Rick Gragg and wife Mary Ann of Lenoir; Paul Gragg of Lenoir; and 5 Grandchildren, Jonathan Douglas Cox, Jordan Paul Cox, Taylor Elizabeth Cox, Andrew “Drew” Thomas Cox and Jacob Darryl Miller. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Hibriten Baptist Church with Reverend Stephen Dagenhart and Reverend Edd Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Zendal Greene, Bud McLean, Steve Icenhour, Bruce Younce, Glenn Winebarger and Jason Rosenberger. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Roger Cox, Jr., Kevin Cox, Gary Winebarger, Bill Grogran and Joe McMillon. The family respectfully requests memorials be made to: Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
