Paris Carolyn Hoyle Black, 91, of Granite Falls, North Carolina passed away on April 30, 2022 at Shaire Center in Lenoir. Paris was born on September 3, 1930 in Casar, North Carolina to the late Victor Alvin Hoyle and Mary Elizabeth Mode Hoyle. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Ray Black; brothers, Eugene Hoyle, Gerald Hoyle and Donald Harold Hoyle; sisters, Edythe Hoyle Irvine and Judith Hoyle Whitaker. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, John David Black and wife Jane of Lenoir; granddaughter, Melissa Black of Granite Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved all equally. Paris was a member of North Catawba Baptist Church, but loved her home church of Corinth Baptist Church. She worked at WestPoint Stevens for many years and after retirement in her 70’s she volunteered at Hospice to help take care of “old folks”. She loved to go to flea markets, yard and estate sales…always looking for a “good deal”. Paris was an excellent cook and made the best biscuits. She also liked to garden and often shared her vegetables and fruits with friends and family. She dearly loved her granddaughter Melissa who lived with her most of her life. After visiting Paris at her home or later at the Shaire Center, as you said goodbye, she would say “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”! A funeral service will be held at 1:30PM at Corinth Baptist Church in Casar NC on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 with Pastor Danny McNeilly officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM to 1:30PM. Burial will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
