Oj Tolbert

Lenoir, NC- Mr. General OJ Tolbert, Jr., age 72, of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born November 8, 1944 in Caldwell County, General was a son of the late General OJ Tolbert, Sr. and Verlee Storie Tolbert. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. General enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He worked in the furniture industry for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Watson and an infant sister. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ann Tolbert of the Home; a son, Kevin Tolbert (wife Wendy); two brothers, Billy Lee Tolbert (wife Denna) and Raymond Tolbert; four grandchildren, Ashley Butler, Laura Tolbert, Mindy Whisnant and Mikey Whisnant; three great grandchildren, Logan Butler, Akira Butler and Ryleigh Carnevale; a loving pet, Lucy and numerous other relatives.
