Norman Luther Norris

Lenoir – Norman Luther Norris, age 65, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was born in Watauga County on December 11, 1949 to Helen Lyons Norris and Luther Henley Norris. Norman was a Sergeant with Griffith’s Security where he had been employed since 1997. His first employment was as a police officer with the Boone Police Department. He had also worked as an officer with the Blowing Rock and Lenoir Police Departments. Norman was a skilled shooter and enjoyed opportunities to spend time practicing the sport he loved with his friends. Norman will be remembered as a kind man with a broad smile, quick wit and great sense of humor. His presence will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him. In addition to his mother, Norman is survived by his brothers, Clay Norris and wife, Deborah; Jerry Norris; Jody Norris and wife, Gail. He also leaves behind to cherish special memories of times spent with their Uncle Norman, five nieces and six nephews. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 prior to the service.
